1.10.99 2,600 2.5%, half paid as £175 pensionable lump sum (reflecting the value of the offer for the period 1.10.99-31.3.00) paid to every industrial employee before Christmas. From April, current pay, plus bonuses and allowances for a 39-hour week due to become new 37-hour salary (if negotiations on single table bargaining ("unification") are completed. A "take-over" pay award equal to 2.75% over last year's pay (1.5% in respect of last year and 1.25% in respect of this year) to apply in April 2000.

1.10.99 15,500 2.5% increase to all pay elements achieved through a 1% general increase and 1.5% consolidated from works quarterly lump sum bonus scheme. MEL increased by the 1.5% "headroom" in bonus schemes to be restored in 1999/00

1.10.99 200 pay structure provides for 8 hour day-workers (operative average annual wage £15,247.40); 12-hour day shift (operative average annual wage £20,507.79); and 12- hour continuous shift (operative average annual wage £21,273.35).

Akzo Nobel Coatings (Darwen) 3.1 36.3 27

1.1.00 150 deal based on consolidation of £100 lump sum from 1999 then 2.25% increase from 1.1.00 (therefore 3.1% on lowest basic). Negotiated job evaluation scheme. Pre-retirement leave now applies from 60 (10 years' service and 12 months' notice); a calendar month's leave in first half of last year, then four-day week for three months, then three-day week for last 3 months. For anyone aged 59 pre-retirement leave starts with retirement at 60.

Chauvin Pharmaceuticals 5.0 36.3 25

1.1.00 75 5% on basic from 1 Jan 2000 plus £100 one-off payment. Next review December 2001 with payment from 1.1.02. Training and Development scheme continued. Limited number of shift work jobs to be introduced on voluntary basis.

28.11.99 136 two-year deal: there was11% for drivers and 10.6% for depot drivers from May 1999 and a further 2.6% (2.1%) from November 1999; next increase in May 2001; 100% pensionable pay backdated to 1997; introduction of monthly pay (£75 for transfer); maximum daily driving 8 hours; max continuous driving 3" hours class 1 passenger, 4hrs class 2; max aggregate driving 460 miles per day; diagram length 5-10 hours; minimum rest interval 12 hours. (limits can be increased by 55% due to engineering work)

1.1.00 7,000 three-year deal from 1.1.98; agreement is for an enhanced hourly rate for the first 50 hours worked. Overnight subsistence allowance increased to £22.55 (£16.91 with sleeper cab).
