A new two year deal for staff at the Wednesbury plant came into effect from 1 February 2001 and will run until 31 January 2003. Individual salaries will rise by 3.5% this year and 3.7% next year, taking the minimum salary to £12,950 for grade 5, and a profit-related bonus scheme originally introduced last July was extended to the end of March "pending review". The working week is 36.5 hours and basic holiday entitlement is 25 days, while service-related holidays are improved giving an extra two days after 15 years' service rising to five days after 45 years. The holiday calendar allows for 10 floating days. Redundancy pay provisions allow for a minimum payment of £5,000
