Agreement in German retail trade

German retail workers have reached a series of regional agreements each providing a 2.7% increase for the next 12 months. The increase lags behind inflation, currently running at 3.1% (June).

In addition the employers have agreed to begin contributing towards an additional pension for employees at a rate of Euro 300 per year from 2002.
