Bonus boosted for Post Office counter staff

Around 1,000 Post Office counter staff are set for a bonus boost following adjustments to their incentive scheme triggered by the coronavirus lockdown. Customer activity (especially parcels and packets) has become increasingly difficult, but a decline in other transactions (such as bureau de change and travel insurance) threatened bonus payments. After negotiations by the CWU union, a system is now in place which maximises each crown branch’s ‘score’ by taking into account performance from earlier, higher-scoring periods.
