Homeworking tax relief

The Local Government Association (LGA) has drawn attention to a “previously little-known” allowance that can pay up to £6 a week (£26 a month) to cover additional costs for employees who have to work from home. It can only be claimed for things to do with work (for example business telephone calls or the extra cost of gas and electricity) but not for things used for both private and business use.
