New safety law dates

From this year, there will only be two dates every year on which new domestic safety laws will come into force, the HSE has announced.

All domestic changes will be now implemented on either 6 April or 1 October each year. However, since most new safety laws originate from Europe and their timetable is not decided by HSE, reps should still expect changes to the law throughout the year.

A list of forthcoming health and safety regulations for 2005 can be found on the HSE website at www.hse.gov.uk/aboutus/regulations
