Pay body reviews

The public sector pay bodies have released their decisions for 2010. The armed forces will receive a 2% increase, partly offset by rises in accommodation and food charges. Prison Service staff will receive an increase of 1% nationwide, with senior officers in England and Wales receiving 1.5%.

Senior civil servants will get no base pay increase and a performance pay pot of 8.6%, as last year. The judiciary’s salaries also remain unchanged. NHS senior managers on less than £80,000 get a 2.25% rise. Those above £81,799 get 0%. And doctors and dentists receive 1.5% for house officers (training posts), 1% for salaried GPs, dentists and registrars and 0% for independent consultants and GPs.
