Tinnitus research

Among the research reports recently prepared by the Health and Safety Laboratory is a review of knowledge on tinnitus in relation to noise exposure and hearing loss (RR768). It shows studies have revealed that tinnitus (buzzing or ringing in the ears) in workers exposed to noise at work is significantly greater than in workers not exposed to noise. The majority of the papers support the idea that there is an association between tinnitus and noise-induced hearing loss.
