Stress and mental health at work (May 2025)

The latest HSE annual statistics, reported in Work-related stress, depression or anxiety statistics in Great Britain, 2024, are based on self-reports from the Labour Force Survey (LFS) and show that 776,000 workers were suffering from work-related stress, depression or anxiety (new and long-standing) in 2023/24. Some 16.4 million working days were lost due to work-related stress, depression or anxiety that year – an average of around 21 days lost per case.
