This chapter sets out the individual rights of workers who are made redundant, unions’ statutory rights to collective consultation when more job losses are threatened (20 or more redundancies proposed over a 90-day period), compensation and protective awards, and the impact of insolvency.


Employees notified of redundancy have the right to time off to look for work or arrange training — see page 160.
