Stress and mental health at work (May 2025)
Statistically higher rates of stress, depression or anxiety were found among health professionals; teaching and other educational professionals; business, media and public service professionals; health and social care associate professionals; and protective service occupations. This last group of workers includes prison and police officers and firefighters. The jobs most at risk of exposure to stress often involve high levels of public contact or interaction and many are in the public sector.
