It is important that union reps are consulted and involved in the development of the policy and the policy itself should highlight the role union reps can play in sexual harassment cases by, for example, investigating any complaints or concerns, and consulting with members.

The policy should also state that reps have a role to play in educating members about sexual harassment as well as dealing with individual complaints.
