Temporary employees

When a temporary (fixed-term) contract comes to an end, this is a dismissal and the employee has the right to claim unfair dismissal if they meet the other qualifying conditions.

It is unlawful to ask employees on fixed-term contracts to waive their rights to either unfair dismissal or redundancy pay.
