Health and Safety Law 2024 (October 2024)

Identify the hazards: A hazard is anything that can cause harm to people, including verbal and online abuse and physical assault to workers. It suggests employers: ask workers about their experiences and what they think – through supervisors, managers or safety representatives, or through a survey; look around at the workplace, including how people work and their working environment; and look back at incident records on work-related violence to identify patterns of violence linked to certain work situations.
