Health and Safety Law 2024 (October 2024)
The HSE advises employers that they have a legal duty under RIDDOR to make a formal report if any of their staff experience a physically violent incident which results in death, major injury or absence from work for seven days or more. They should also report instances of violence and crime to the police, who use this data to identify hot spots and their interventions. (Also see Chapter 8.)
