In the latest (2023) NHS national staff survey of around 1.4 million health workers, around a quarter reported experiencing harassment, bullying and abuse at work from patients or service users, relatives or the public over the previous 12 months. And the 2023 Civil Service People Survey showed a rise in reported rates of bullying and harassment. These increased by 1% compared to 2022 to reach 8%.
