Health and Safety Law 2024 (October 2024)

The Personal Protective Equipment at Work (Amendment) Regulations 2022 came into force on 6 April 2022 and extend employers’ duties under the Personal Protective Equipment at Work Regulations 1992 to a wider group of workers. They contain a definition of “worker” that applies to two groups of individuals. The first group has entered into or works under a contract of employment. This group are employees under the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 and were already covered by the requirements of PPER 1992.
