Health and Safety Law 2024 (October 2024)

In the UK, holiday untaken due to sickness or injury can be carried forward for up to 18 months after the end of the holiday year when it accrued. Any holiday untaken beyond that point will be lost (Plumb v Duncan Print Group Limited [2015] UKEAT/0071/15/DA). This is based on the WTD’s health and safety purpose and the International Labour Organization Holidays with Pay Convention.
