An HSE spokesperson told Hazards the new EU standards “were considered under the GB regime and the decision was taken not to introduce the limits”. In some cases, this was because there is little or no known use of the substance in Britain, or GB already had the same or more stringent limits. There have been no updates to EH40 since January 2020.
