Health and Safety Law 2024 (October 2024)

HSE guidance aimed at employers whose staff drive or ride a motorcycle or bike at work makes clear that health and safety law applies to on-the-road activities in the same way as it does to all work activities. The Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 requires employers to ensure, so far as reasonably practicable, the health, safety and welfare of all employees while at work (See Chapter 2). Under the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, employers must assess the risks to the health and safety of their employees, including while driving at work (See Chapter 5).
