Health and Safety Law 2024 (October 2024)
The HSE publication Legionnaires’ disease: the control of Legionella bacteria in water systems (L8), along with supporting Technical Guidance, provides practical advice to employers on how to control the risk of legionella bacteria in water systems. It sets out the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 and the COSHH Regulations and applies to the risk from exposure to legionella bacteria. In particular it gives guidance on sections 2, 3, 4 and 6 of the HSW Act and regulations 6, 7, 8, 9 and 12 of COSHH. The Code also gives guidance on compliance with the relevant parts of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 (see Chapter 3).
