Health and Safety Law 2024 (October 2024)

The latest annual report highlights several prosecutions, including that against Cleveland Potash, which pleaded guilty to offences contrary to sections 2 and 3 of the HSWA and was fined £3.6 million and ordered to pay £185,000 costs. This prosecution concerned two arc flashes, resulting in severe burns, at the Boulby mine in Cleveland.
