In June 2023, garden supplies company Deco-Pak Ltd was fined £700,000 after being previously convicted of corporate manslaughter and owner Michael Hall was convicted of gross negligence manslaughter in April 2023, following a re-trial. He was sentenced to five years imprisonment. The convictions followed the death of Andrew Tibbott who was killed at Deco-Pak’s West Yorkshire premises in April 2017. He was attempting to clean a sensor on an automated bagging production line and was crushed to death by a robotic packing arm. (See also Brian Timmins on page 21.)
