The campaign group, Families Against Corporate Killers, welcomed the guideline, saying it should provide consistency, some justice for families and deterrence for employers. However, it also called for effective investigations of all cases of work-related death and for charges of gross negligence manslaughter to be brought against CEOs and directors of large organisations — “the real corporate killers”.
