Health and Safety Law 2024 (October 2024)
Some employers have asked safety reps to sign risk assessment records as the competent person. The TUC advises that risk assessments should only ever be signed by management or the workplace safety officer because the legal responsibility is that of the employer. Safety reps should, however, be involved from the earliest stages of the risk assessment process.
