Individuals working in these sectors have won a series of legal victories and successfully challenged contracts describing them as “self-employed” and instead established that they are “workers” entitled to rights including holiday pay and breaks and to be provided with personal protective equipment (PPE) (see Chapters 10 and 9) as well as a guaranteed minimum wage.
