Health and Safety Law 2024 (October 2024)

Previously, workers could bring civil claims for compensation against employers who breached health and safety regulations regardless of whether the employer was at fault. The employer was “strictly liable”, or automatically responsible, for loss that resulted from the worker’s injury. The change applies to accidents and industrial disease that occurred on or after 1 October 2013.
