Victimisation

The law of victimisation (section 27 EA 10) is designed to protect individuals who have made a complaint of discrimination or relied on discrimination law.

If an individual is subjected to a detriment (which can be any kind of unfavourable treatment) because they have done something in connection with the EA 10/DDA 95, this is victimisation. For example, someone who is refused promotion because they have asked for reasonable adjustments would have a claim for victimisation.
