Prospect says that when harassment is tolerated in the working environment every employee is affected.

“An atmosphere of hostility is created, undermining any sense of community and potentially the union’s effectiveness,” it says. “The union’s credibility is determined by the way it deals with problems at the workplace, so it is important that incidents of harassment are dealt with sensitively and fairly.”
