Inflation at 3.2%

RPI inflation was 3.2% in March 2025, down from a recent high of 3.6% in January. Rents rose faster than inflation and are now 7.7% higher than a year ago. The price of petrol fell by 1.6p per litre between February and March, a driving factor in the lower headline figure.

Inflation was expected to rise again in April due to rising bills and higher business costs being passed on to consumers.
