The Employment Rights Bill (January 2025)

Chapter 2

Equality action plans

[page 22]

The bill proposes an amendment to the Equality Act 2010 that will:

• require employers with 250 or more employees to produce an equality action plan showing the steps they are taking to address gender equality, including the gender pay gap and supporting employees going through the menopause; and

• require employers to provide gender pay gap information relating to outsourced workers.

This is a new obligation in terms of gender. However, there is nothing in the bill to extend these equality action plans to other protected characteristics such as race or disability.
