Health and Safety Law 2021 (October 2021)

Chapter 1

Providing and explaining guidance

[ch 1: page 26]

In order to ensure people understand their role in maintaining safety, employers should consider providing clear guidance on reducing the risk of spreading Covid-19 to other people when they arrive. They can do this by phone, email, websites, on-site signage and visual aids. They should also consider the particular needs of those with protected characteristics, such as those who are hearing or visually impaired. They should establish “host responsibilities” for those who act as hosts for visitors; review entry and exit routes for visitors and contractors to minimise contact with other people; and coordinate and cooperate with other occupiers of shared facilities. There is also guidance on working safely in other people’s homes.
