Law at work 2020 - the trade union guide to employment law (July 2020)

Chapter 14

In-work mediation

[ch 14: page 515]

In-work mediation can play an important role in resolving workplace disputes if it is genuinely voluntary and if refusing mediation does not prevent someone accessing the employment tribunal. In-work mediation aims to resolve disputes while a worker remains employed. The TUC and Acas have published joint guidance on good practice, Mediation: a guide for trade union representatives, available on the Acas website. Acas, as a reputable, trusted and impartial organisation, is the TUC’s preferred mediator.
