Loss of driving licence

Where a driver faces dismissal due to the loss of his licence, the employer should look for other suitable jobs. As always, whether a dismissal is fair depends on context. In Wincanton Group PLC v Gregory [2012] UKEAT/0011/2/1110, Mr Gregory’s dismissal was unfair because Wincanton misled him into thinking it was looking for other suitable jobs when this was not true.
