Working safely with COVID-19 - a guide for workplace reps (February 2021)

Chapter 5

Test, Trace and Isolate — workplace guidance

[ch 5: page 27]

Guidance from NHS Test and Trace for employers advises they must:

• request that workers self-isolate if they have been asked to do so; and

• support their workers when in isolation.

They must not ask workers to attend the workplace. And if people cannot work from home, they must ensure any self-isolating employee is receiving sick pay, if they are eligible, and give them the option to use their paid leave days if they prefer (see pages 29-30).

If there is more than one case of COVID-19 in a workplace, employers should contact their local health protection team to report the suspected outbreak.
