Chapter 7
People who had a disability but have since recovered
[ch 7: page 217]The EA 10 protects someone who was disabled in the past, even though they have since recovered. For example, a woman who, four years ago, experienced a mental illness that had a substantial and long-term adverse effect on her ability to carry out day-to-day activities but has experienced no recurrence of the condition is still protected if she suffers less favourable treatment because of her past disability (for example, being turned down for a job because of her medical history).
