8. Reasonable adjustments and discrimination arising from disability

Under the EA 10, direct and indirect discrimination, harassment and victimisation because of disability are all unlawful (see Chapters 4 to 7).

In addition, there are two further categories of legal rights unique to disability discrimination law. They are:

• protection from discrimination arising from disability (section 15, EA 10); and

• the employer’s duty to make reasonable adjustments (section 20, EA 10).

These two categories are looked at in this Chapter.
