Although there are no specific health and safety regulations on work-related violence and abuse, the following pieces of legislation are all relevant:

Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974;

Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999;

Safety Representatives and Safety Committees Regulations 1977;

Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 2013 (RIDDOR);

• Emergency Workers Acts;

• Dangerous dogs legislation;

Equality Act 2010 (includes protection from harassment);

Protection from Harassment Act 1997 (includes protection from cyber bullying); and

Criminal Justice Act 1998 (includes protection from racially/religiously aggravated common assault).
