Chapter 1

Guidance for employers and workers

[ch 1: page 12]

The document Preventing workplace harassment and violence – Joint guidance implementing a European social partner agreement was drawn up by the Confederation of British Industry (CBI), the Partnership of Public Employers (PPE) and the TUC and supported by the government, Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and the advice and concilliation service Acas. It sets out that: “Tolerance, diversity, dignity and respect are benchmarks for business success, so it is in employers’ interests to identify and address the threat or occurrence of workplace harassment and violence.” (See page 53 for further information.)
