Promoting equality for disabled workers - a guide for trade union reps (November 2013)

Chapter 1

People who had a disability but have since recovered

The EA 2010 protects someone who was disabled in the past, even though they have since recovered, i.e. for example, a woman who suffered with depression which had a substantial and long-term adverse effect on her ability to carry out day-to-day activities. This worker would be protected by the EA 2010, even if she had no recurrence of depression in the last four years.
