• The Health and Safety Executive has clarified its criteria for investigating cases of work-related stress. It will consider investigating concerns about work-related stress where there is evidence that a number of staff are experiencing stress-related ill health, rather than where there is an individual case;

• The Equality and Human Rights Commission has published new guidance on sexual harassment explaining employers’ legal responsibilities and the practical steps they should take to prevent and respond to harassment and victimisation at work;

• Employment relations service Acas has published new guidelines on the use of non-disclosure agreements;

• The Supreme Court has reversed a previous decision and ruled that Barclays Bank was not vicariously liable for sexual assaults committed by an independent doctor who was carrying out medical examinations on its behalf;

• The CWU communications’ union has repeated its call for the law on dangerous dogs to be reformed after a Scottish parliamentary committee found it was not fit for purpose.
