Health and Safety Law 2020 (August 2020)

Chapter 5

Take advice before whistleblowing!

[ch 5: page 98]

Whistleblowing law is extremely complicated, and the information set out above is a summary only. Anyone contemplating blowing the whistle should take expert advice as soon as possible and talk to their union. One of the best sources of advice is national specialist charity Protect (previously known as Public Concern at Work). The charity runs a confidential whistleblowing Advice Line: 020 7404 6609.

LRD has produced a more comprehensive guide in a new booklet for union reps, Whistleblowing, published in October 2019.
