Negotiating checklist on flexible working

The aim should be to negotiate a flexible working policy that is open to all workers and available for reasons other than caring for children. Reps can aim to remove any service requirements and a policy should allow temporary arrangements, as well as a wide a choice of flexible arrangements, including:

• part-time work;

• job-sharing;

• working from home

• term-time working;

• flexitime;

• staggered hours;

• compressed working week; and

• voluntary reduced hours.
