Age, gender and stress

Women are more likely to suffer from work-related stress than men. The HSE reports that over the most recent three-year period for which it has data (2011-2015) the prevalence rate for work-related stress for women was 920 cases per 100,000 people employed, compared with 590 cases for men.

Women in the 34-44 and 45-54 age groups had significantly higher rates than the average across the workforce.
