Specific health conditions

In the context of current concerns about employee health and wellbeing, there appears to be a growing recognition of specific conditions that can contribute to sickness absence. The examples given below concern drugs and alcohol, obesity, migraine, domestic violence, and individuals on the autism and Asperger “spectrum”, although that is not an exhaustive list. This applies also to conditions that relate to specific groups within the workforce (such as the menopause), see Chapter 3.
