Statutory Shared Parental Pay (SSPP)

Statutory shared parental pay (SSPP) is up to 37 weeks’ pay (or 39 weeks for a partner where the mother dies in childbirth) at the flat rate of £139.58 (2016-17), or 90% of average weekly earnings if less. In other words, there is no right to an initial six-week period of SSPP at 90% of actual wages.

Only employees with 26 weeks’ service can claim SSPP.
