Rights during leave

During maternity, adoption, shared parental and ordinary paternity leave, the employee is entitled to all their normal employment rights except as to wages, which is replaced by a right to statutory pay, or to any improved contractual entitlement. The benefits that remain in place during the leave period are explained on page 36.
