Transport strike in Italy

An Italian transport strike affected local train, bus and tram services

on 6 September after the three main Italian union confederations, CGIL,

CSIL, and UIL, and civil service union CISAL called out members in

municipal transport. The aim of the strike, which lasted from 9.00am to

1.00pm, was to increase pressure on the employers as part of the ongoing

negotiations on a new contract.
