Inflation remains at 3.3%

Cheaper furniture offset by more expensive food has kept inflation steady. Under the Retail Price Index (RPI) it was unchanged at 3.3% in July on the previous month.

The Consumer Prices Index (CPI), which excludes housing costs and is the government's preferred measure, fell to 2.4% in July after rising to 2.5% in June but is still higher than in the first quarter.
