Class sizes

The EIS teachers' union aims to put education at the heart of the Scottish parliamentary elections on 3 May. It will campaign on three areas - pupil indiscipline, class sizes and nursery education. General secretary Ronnie Smith praised the Scottish Executive's record on class sizes, but said a cut in pupil numbers in the next few years would make further reductions possible.
